I am proud to have chosen to stand for Norwich City Council in Eaton on 5th May. I was born in Norfolk, Live locally in Eaton with my family and I care deeply about this area and want to do my best for local people.
When people ask me what I would do I were elected, my answer is simple - to work together with everybody in Eaton to make our community better, I will build on the hard-work already done locally, talk regularly to local residents and continue to produce positive newsletters and surveys that keep you informed about what is going on locally .
This is a local election and should be about local issues and who is the best person to stand up for Eaton at City Hall. No problem should be too big or too small for a local councillor to tackle from litter to road safety, from planning to anti-social behaviour. We want Councillors that are brave enough to take on anything and everything on your behalf. I will always have time to listen, take action and get results for local people.
I know there are many national issues facing us all at the moment and times are tough. I will endevour to provide your feedback through the party and the Conservative MPs in Norfolk. I do ask you though to focus on the local issues in this City Council election. For example Council Tax. Labour have hiked Council Tax for 4 years in a row, whilst the Liberals sat on their hands. Labour are Socialists and as such believe they know what is 'best for the people'. Conservatives believe people can think for themselves and that people know themselves what they need, and more importantly what they don't need! I'm here to listen and represent you at City Hall, not to tell you what you need.
Why do I want to be your Councillor? All rate and tax payers work hard for their money; commercial organisations are under pressure and money is tight. We deserve the services we pay for, and should question those that don't provide the core services we need. I want to ensure that public services behave in the most efficient way and spend wisely the money we give them from our hard-earned salaries. I want to support and protect those service that do deliver the services we need. I want to do good and ensure our community is a great place to live. I want to help others......
I want to be a Councillor for the whole community – Eaton Village, South Park, Eaton Rise and the Unthank Road / Newmarket Road area; everyone is important!
Yours sincerely,
Chris Groves
